Core Bio self-test on the App Store now Update August 2025

Core Bio is a self-testing app assisting learners from the 9th grade through college in studying biology with a focus on genetics. The Core Bio self-tests will eventually be tied to the Core Bio Ecosystem with learning content heavily based on the curriculum that helps students in the United Kingdom prepare for the GCSE exam in biology. The Core Bio Ecosystem is an interactive textbook that presents material in audio, video, and textual formats to create a learning experience based on cognitive science studies of multimedia learning.

Core Bio also integrates genetics and organic chemistry into the curriculum to better prepare students for two of the most difficult undergraduate classes that serve as a dealbreaker when it comes to eventually applying to medical school. Core Bio has taken the content of introductory classes taught at Stamford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and distilled them into a 9 - 12 curriculum.

Our interactive textbook, the Core Bio Ecosystem, was created to help learners grasp and eventually master concepts through strategies involving multiple learning styles. This is not simply done to unlock the students ‘unique genius’ but to introduce students to looking at solving programs through a variety of learning styles. Core Bio and other ecosystems in the Galapagos EDU biome were developed based on the scientifically proven idea the human brain has a great deal of plasticity. Students use the same digital textbook for four years so one year builds upon the next, and students can learn on their own time. The Core Bio Ecosystem costs significantly less than a traditional textbook for high school biology which can be as much as 160 dollars per student without crucial yearly updates.

Components of the Core Bio Ecosystem
  1. Integrates traditional secondary biology curriculum with organic chemistry and genetics to better prepare for top science universities.
